Quercetin may be helpful against Covid19

Updated: Apr 20, 2020

Quercetin is a non-prescription supplement that is being studied for its ability to inhibit the coronavirus from entering the cell. This plant flavanoid is found in abundance in green tea, berries, broccoli and apples. This natural polyphenol. could prove very valuable in your arsenal against the coronavirus infection. It is currently being studied for its ability to close the doors where the virus tries to enter. The "doors" are the ACE 2 Receptors sites.

Researchers have been applying computer modeling techniques to identify molecules with structures that could conceivably block the “ACE2 receptors” on cells to which the coronavirus that causes COVID-19 attaches, much like a key fits into a lock. Once the virus enters a cell it hijacks the cellular machinery and uses it to reproduce and crank out more viruses. Based on its molecular structure, quercetin could be a “key” that fits the lock and blocks other “keys.”

Quercetin is a Zinc Ionosphere so it helps zinc get into the cell and the zinc prohibits the virus from entering. This is why I recommend you take Quercetin at the same time as your Zinc.

Quercetin as a zinc Ionosphere is used increase zinc intra-cellularly and inhibit viral production. Therefore, this can possibly be used prophylactically.

Quercetin closes the door to the virus and does not let it enter the cell and therefore it cannot replicate.

Quercetin was used during the Ebola outbreak with some success. Dosage for ebola infections was 3-7 grams or 3000-7000 mg.

During this outbreak, I am personally taking 1000 mg of Quercetin, 3 times a day with zinc 30mg. You could go higher on zinc if you know you are deficient.
